Link Description
A2A A2A allows you to search and browse for information about archives in England dating from the 900s to the present day. These archives are cared for in local record offices and libraries, universities.Now available through The National Archives Discovery search engine.
AIM25 AIM25 is a major project to provide electronic access to collection level descriptions of the archives of over 50 higher education institutions and learned societies within the greater London area.
British Army Nurses This is the official site for the history and heritage of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps and its antecedents (Army Nursing Service; Princess Christian's Army Nursing Service (Reserve); Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service, Territorial Force Nursing Service, Territorial Army Nursing Service).
British Library Newspaper Collection British and overseas newspapers dating back to the 1600s and a growing collections of radio, television and web news.
District Nursing 150 2009 marked the 150th anniversary of the Queen's Nursing Institute. To mark this the QNI developed a micro-site.
Historical Manuscripts Commission The Historical Manuscripts Commission (HMC) appointed under Royal Warrant in 1869 has been part of The National Archives since 2003. HMC has a long tradition of publishing information on the location and nature of records, highlighting their value in historical research and advising on their care. The activities of the Commission are an integral part of The National Archives.
London Metropolitan Archives The LMA includes important nursing records from the London teaching hospitals.
Lothian Health Services Archives These archives include significant nursing records and links to other Scottish Health Service Archives.

Danish Museum of Nursing History The Danish Museum of Nursing History is the centre for books and publications on the Danish history of nursing. Some of the publications are available in English. Site in both Danish & English

UCD Irish Centre for Nursing & Midwifery History Located at the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems, the Centre was established in 2009 with grant funding from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and is aligned with the Centre for the History of Medicine in Ireland.

American Association for the History of Nursing The American Association for the History of Nursing (AAHN) is a professional organisation open to everyone interested in the history of nursing. Originally founded in 1978 as a historical methodology group, the association was briefly named the International History of Nursing Society.
Australian Nursing and Midwifery History Project The Australian Nursing and Midwifery History Project (ANMHP), a self-funding autonomous project hosted by the Department of Nursing at the University of Melbourne's School of Health Sciences.
B.C. History of Nursing Society In 1989 interested registered nurses banded together and formed the B.C. History of Nursing Professional Practice Group under the umbrella of the Registered Nurses Association of BC (now the College of Registered Nurses of BC.) The mission of the founders was to discover, disseminate, and preserve BC's nursing history. In 2008 the organization became registered under the Society Act of BC and is now known as the B.C. History of Nursing Society (BCHNS).
The Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing "The Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing is the preeminent nursing history archive and research center in the world. Our priority is to increase understanding of the importance of nursing history and health care to the development of effective health policy and patient care strategies".
The Margaret M. Allemang Society for the History of Nursing The Margaret M. Allemang Society for the History of Nursing is an Ontario (Canada) organisation open to anyone interested in the history of nursing. Founded in 1993, the organisation works to increase the visibility of the major role of nurses in our society.
The Canadian Association for the History of Nursing The Canadian Association for the History of Nursing (CAHN) is a charitable organisation founded in 1987, and is an affiliate group of the Canadian Nurses Association.
