The Bulletin is the annual journal published by the UK Association for the History of Nursing (UKAHN). It aims to be the meeting point for everyone who is interested in any aspect of the history of nursing in all its branches. All contributions are double-blind peer reviewed. We especially welcome contributions from new researchers in the history of nursing.
The editor of the UKAHN Bulletin is Dr Stuart Wildman, Honorary Research Fellow, Social Studies in Medicine, Institute of Applied Health Research, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham
We also contribute to the Bulletin of the European Association for the History of Nursing (EAHN) which can be downloaded from their site.
The UK Association for the History of Nursing is keen to publish original contributions relating to nursing history. Material submitted to the Bulletin should relate to one of the following sections and should adhere to the relevant word limit:
Material should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document using Ariel, size 12. References (if appropriate) should be in accordance with the Harvard system and should be placed at the end of the contribution. This is the – author, date – referencing system with a full reference list in alphabetical order at the end of the manuscript (Download our referencing guidelines).
Material is only accepted on the basis that it has not been previously published, is not being offered elsewhere and that it is the original work of the contributor. The Editor reserves the right to make minor amendments to contributions: material requiring major changes will be returned to the author for resubmission. It is regretted that no payments can be made for material published.
Authors are required to assign copyright in their contributions to the UK Association for the History of Nursing. Requests to re-publish copyright material will be granted if full acknowledgements are made. Illustrations are welcome, but authors must ensure that they have gained appropriate copyright clearance.
Please contact the Editor (using the Contact Form) to discuss possible future contributions, and for the email address to submit your material.
