UKAHN Colloquium 2018

History of Nursing Research Colloquium

University of Chester
10th July 2018
Call for Papers

The UK Association for the History of Nursing, Research Colloquium will be held on 10th July 2018 at the University of Chester. We ask for papers that cover any aspect of nursing history, including work in progress. The Colloquium has a proud tradition of providing a supportive environment and space for researchers to present work in progress and obtain feedback for further development of their research.

The history of nursing is a well-established field of academic study, pursued both by nurse-historians and by researchers from other disciplines, including history itself, English literature and sociology to name a few. Its interdisciplinarity is reflected in the themes which run through nursing history conferences: gender and race studies, colonial history, transnational relationships, class, politics and international studies, in addition to the development of nursing science and practice.

Please submit abstracts via the UKAHN website Contact page. Abstracts should be approximately 250 words in the format:

  • Title
  • Author(s)
  • Aims & focus of the research
  • Methods and / or sources
  • Key areas for discussion
  • Conclusions.

Deadline: Friday 23rd March 2018

Details of the arrangements and costs will appear here in due course.
