The 27th UK Association for the History of Nursing Research Colloquium will be held on Monday 1st June 2026 at the Town House, Penryn Road Campus Kingston University, London.
Any aspect of nursing history, at all stages of the research process , can be included in the programme. The colloquium has a proud tradition of providing a supportive environment for researchers to present work in progress, and obtain feedback for further development of their research, as well as hosting more polished papers.
This will be an all-day event, starting at 9.30am, in the Town House, Penryn Road Campus, Kingston University. The finish time will be confirmed when the programme has been agreed but we will aim to stop by 5.30pm at the latest to allow for travel. The delegate fee will include lunch and refreshments.
Call for Papers
Papers and posters are invited that cover any aspect of nursing history, at all stages of the research process. The colloquium has a proud tradition of providing a supportive environment for researchers to present work in progress, and obtain feedback for further development of their research, as well as hosting more polished papers.
Please submit abstracts of c.250 words to deadline Monday 2 March 2026. Proposals should include a title, preferred author name/s, the aims and focus of the research, the methods or sources used, key areas for discussion, and any preliminary conclusions. Please submit by email to ukahistoryofnursing@gmail.com

Decisions on the programme will be made by 1st April 2026 and those submitting abstracts informed. A link for booking will be available via our website www.ukahn.org by early January 2026 and the programme by early April.

The Colloquium will be held in the University’s landmark Town House which opened in early 2020 and won the prestigious 2021 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling prize as Britain’s best new building.
