Biographies of Influential British Nurses
In this, The International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the Royal College of Nursing have collaborated to commission biographies of twenty individuals who played a notable part in the development of the nursing profession in the twentieth century. The biographies will be posted online on Thursday 13th February.
The Oxford DNB is the national record of men and women who have shaped British history, worldwide, from prehistory to the year 2016. From February 2020 the Dictionary includes biographies of 63,713 individuals, written by over 10,000 contributors.
